About ActNow
Part of the JoeTheVoter civic engagement network.
ActNow (actnow.joethevoter.org) is a companion site to research.joethevoter.org, which tracks legal, watchdog, and advocacy organizations working through litigation and lobbying. ActNow exists for a different question: how does an individual get personally involved?
This site brings together three things:
- An organizing directory of grassroots groups doing canvassing, phone banking, protests, and get-out-the-vote work — searchable by category, state, or keyword.
- A funders & donors reference list of the foundations and individuals who fund voting-rights and civic-engagement work, for transparency and research.
- A Know Your Rights resource page listing legal-help organizations for protesters and organizers who may face First Amendment suppression at a demonstration.
Inclusion in any list on this site is informational only and is not an endorsement by ActNow or JoeTheVoter, nor does it imply that a listed organization endorses this site. Details (contact methods, hotline numbers, program names) change over time — always confirm directly with the organization before relying on anything listed here.
